We run various workshops throughout the year focusing on a fusion of various dance styles within the Jive environment.

Tango 4 Jivers

Ian and Mandy have been hugely instrumental in introducing Argentine Tango principles, style and moves to the Modern Jive world by teaching workshops and at all the major Jive weekenders over the last 3 years. They will teach you how to put Argentine Tango style and moves into your Jive freestyle. They will show you how to adapt Tango for a small area on the Jive dance floor whilst maintaining that special connection and sensuality unique to the Argentine Tango dance. They will show you how to fuse smoothly between Jive and Tango moves and dance Tango style to a wide spectrum of music. Beware...everyone gets hooked!

Neo Tango

Neo Tango is a modern relaxed and playful adaptation of Argentine Tango. Utilizing an open hold with open and closed movements, turns, spins and reverse holds. Neo Tango can be danced to a wide range of music from Blues, jazz, pop, acoustic, soft Latin, Swing etc.

R&B Salsa

Mandy has been teaching salsa for many years mainly in the London area. Ian has always been adding that something extra to his dancing and quickly adapted salsa for the Modern Jive environment. Together, Ian & Mandy have been very successful teaching Salsa to the R&B and soft Latin music often played at Modern Jive events. At weekenders, they have often surprised dancers by demonstrating how Salsa & WCS can be danced to the same music.

West Coast Swing

West Coast Swing (along with Tango) is growing rapidly in the UK. A smooth stylish social dance from USA that can be danced to a wide range of music like Modern Jive, but particularly suits the more down beat Swing, Blues and R&B music. The weekender Blues Rooms are now full of WCS dancers. John and Wes of Jive Addiction's 'Southport' Fame have been responsible for bringing over the top US teachers and dancers since 2004. They held the first UK West Coast Swing Championships in April 2007. This weekender was a huge success and has spurned a hunger for many Jivers to learn the dance.
